So much awesome in one blog

First off, I would just like to thank my husband for having so much faith in my basketball skills. James is a huge basketball junkie and last night he was practicing at the gym with his intramural team when I went to pick him up. After the big boys got done playing and were settling down I decided I wanted to shoot some hoops. So I marched up to the free throw line and turned away from the rim to shoot a backwards shot. Right before I was about to James said "Hey if you make that shot I'll buy you a new pair of jeans." I had nothing to lose and a much needed pair of jeans to gain (apparently most people have more than one pair... go figure.) Anyhoo, I shot the basketball and right before it inevitably went in James says "NO WAY!" hahaha! YEAH! That's right! That was real life!! Definitely one of my favorite moments. I mean we're talking top five here!
And on a side note, today I made barbeque pork in the slow cooker for us to have pulled pork sandwiches when we got home from church :) They were DERICIOUS!! My favorite part of cooking/baking is when I get to watch Jamesy enjoy it :)
I strongly recommend making these for yo man! It's super easy.
-Buy a pork roast
-Rub some spices on it (i.e. garlic salt, paprika)
-Add about 1 1/2 cups ginger ale to the crockpot
-Place roast in crock
-Pour additional ginger ale over the roast (however much you want.. i did about 1/2 cup)
-Turn crock pot onto low and let cook for 7 hours
-When done cooking, take roast out and place on cutting board while you drain juices
-Put the roast back in the pot and shred the meat with a fork
-Pour desired amount of your favorite barbeque sauce over the shredded meat, mix up, and sprinkle it with a little onion powder if you want :)
-Let it simmer for 30 minutes and you are done!!

p.s. another side note: we have now been married for 99 days! :)

Who needs an appendix anyways?

James had to have an appendectomy? Say what?! Yes, it's true. Last Thursday he woke up complaining of stomach pains and he's not a big complainer. Being the manly man that he is, he went to work so I thought it must not be that bad then. He came home 2 hours later though and told me he had been laying on the ground at work taking phone calls because it hurt so bad. He went back to sleep for a few hours and woke up again and it just kept getting worse! He thought if he ate it would help and asked me to go out and get him a burrito. When I came back with it he refused to eat it and that's when I knew that the situation was no bueno! James doesn't refuse his favorite burrito! We took him into urgent care and he had some blood work  done and the doctors also wanted to run a CT scan on him just to make sure it wasn't appendicitis. Unfortunately I couldn't be there with him the whole time. I had to leave him and go to work because no one could cover for me. I tried my best at work not to worry about James but once he called me and told me he had acute appendicitis and had to go into surgery there was no way I was gonna stay there!! Luckily someone finally came in to relieve me and I hurried over to the hospital he was at just a few blocks away. It was hard walking into the ER and seeing him hooked up to all kinds of equipment. It broke me down a little but James being the trooper that he is, lying in a hospital bed and all, was there to comfort me. I didn't want it to be that way so I perked up and did my best to support him. We even got to watch the first half of the Lakers-Celtics game together before he went in :) All during his surgery I think I checked the score every three minutes on my phone so I could tell him what happened as soon as he woke up! They won and I was so happy I'd be able to give him good news when he woke up! It was the first thing I told him when I saw his cute drugged up little face and he was so happy! It might have been because of the anesthesia, though ;)
He had to stay overnight so I stayed with him and he kept waking up saying how happy he was that the Lakers won. I think he was happier about the Lakers than the fact that I was there with him and that his surgery went fine!
His recovery has been unbelievable! We went to church just a few days later and celebrated Valentines Day on Monday by going out to get dinner at a Chinese restaurant called Shoots. He even got one of his friends to take him to the store while I was at work so he could have flowers for him when he got home.
What a guy!!!!

Hot James watching the game before heading into the O.R. (Work that hospital gown, boy!)

Later, inflamed appendix.

About an hour after surgery (STILL working that hospital gown)

Making up for lost burritos :) The nurses said it was okay for him to eat it and then came in once he was already done to tell him he actually shouldn't have... FANTASTIC!

He's such a schweetheart!

The sugar cookie I decorated at work for him on Vday! Got kinda smashed in the car.. oops

Here's to being a newlywed....and blogging.

For some reason writing the opening statement has always been the most difficult part of writing anything that I want to be worth reading. Did that even make sense? Hmmm...
I'm formerly known as Miss Amara Franco. As of 73 days ago, I am now known as Mrs. James Moberly... nice ring to it, eh? ;) Anyways, we were married in the San Diego Temple on 11/20/2010 and it's been a blissful ride ever since! I mean every ride has it's rough patches but he makes it all worth it.
James is in his second to last semester completing a Chinese major at BYU. Naturally, I moved up to Utah to be with him when we got married.  He is currently working tech support for a company called Vivint that does alarm systems. That boy is a hard worker! He gets up at the buttcrack of dawn to go to work (AKA 3:30 A.M.) and then does all his school jazz. We only have one car, my VW Passat who goes by the name of Judy. So either one of us gets the car while the other plays cab driver.
I am a humble minimum waged worker at Shirley's Bakery. There are two locations; one in Provo about a mile away and one in American Fork about 15 miles away. It's so nice being able to walk to work occasionally! I love the early morning shift because I get to do all the good stuff like frosting sweet rolls, sugar cookies and other mouth watering treats. Mmmm, mmmm! Another plus is that I get to take as much day-old junk for free as my little arms can carry! Now we get to save money on bread :) Ain't nothin' wrong with that!
So I guess you could say life is pretty dang sweet right now.  I'd have to say the best parts about being married have been cooking for my James, having him at arms length whenever I need him, not having to wear make-up all the time and still feel pretty, wearing his clothes, and falling asleep with him every night and waking up with him every morning. (CORNY!!!) Anyways, it's just like a sleepover that lasts forver :)

...And that's all I have to say about that.

Our Apartment after we moved in and opened all of our gifts. I promise it's semi-cleaner now...

Some of the goods Shirley's has to offer. They'll be the death of anyone!
